Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Slowing You Down? Here Are 3 Natural Ways To Relieve The Pain

Health & Medical Blog

If you do any type of repetitive work with your hands and wrists, you run the risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome. You might have it right now and not even know it. If you've been experiencing an aggravating itch on the palm of your hand, or numbness and tingling in your fingers, chances are that you have carpal tunnel syndrome. You should visit your doctor to be sure. In addition to visiting the doctor, you should add a few foods and herbs to your diet. These specific foods and herbs can help relieve the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Fresh Pineapple

As soon as you start feeling the twinge of carpal tunnel pain, eat a few slices of fresh pineapple. Don't try canned pineapple because processing removes the essential ingredients. Fresh pineapple is rich in bromelain, which is a natural anti-inflammatory agent. For maximum benefits, add at least one serving of pineapple a day to your diet.

Chamomile Tea

If you want to sit back and relax away the pain, drink a glass of chamomile tea. Chamomile contains apigenin, which is a natural ingredient also found in Cox-2 inhibitors. These Cox-2 inhibitors are natural anti-inflammatory agents, and they also relieve pain. Relax with a glass of tea twice a day for maximum relief.

Cayenne Peppers

Cayenne peppers contain capsaicin, a natural pain reliever. You don't have to eat the peppers, though. You just have to apply them to your skin. There are a couple of ways to do that. One way is to add a teaspoon of cayenne powder to your favorite hand cream and rub the cream into your aching hands, and wrists.

Another way is to pour 4 cups of rubbing alcohol into a bowl and add about 10 whole cayenne peppers. Place a cover over the bowl and leave it to sit for about three days. Remove the peppers and dip your hands in the water twice a day. Be sure to rinse your hands with milk after you use this solution though. The milk will remove the oils that could irritate your eyes.

You don't have to let hand and wrist pain keep you from doing the things you need to do. If you suspect that you have carpal tunnel syndrome, you need to see your doctor. To help relieve the pain and inflammation of CTS, you can add these natural foods and spices to your diet.
